Marshfield improved to 4-1 on the season thanks to a 37-8 win over host Falmouth.

Danny Dalton came into the game at less than 100% but managed to thrive in limited action. He touched the ball twice in the first quarter and romped into the end zone to finish each play, one from 41 yards out, the other from 25 yards. His final stat line was 2 receptions on 2 targets for 66 yards and 2 TDs.

Frank Catanoso kept the fireworks going with a pair of touchdowns of his own. He connected with Rams QB Jack Masterson for a 69-yard scoring strike in the second quarter, and found pay dirt again just before halftime on a 19-yard touchdown scamper around the left end.

Jacob Maher scored the other touchdown in the first half on a 26-yard run, giving the Rams a comfortable 31-0 cushion going into the locker room.

The Clippers kept fighting in the second half, and they managed to get on the scoreboard midway through the third quarter on a 4-yard touchdown pass, but the Rams answered on the following drive, which finished with a 3-yard touchdown run by Chris Lunn.

Falmouth's triple option offensive attack led to lots of gang tackling opportunities, so there were lots off assisted tackle stats racked up. Bob McCarthy was the lead tackler on 9 of his 11 stops to set the tone for the Rams, but 4 other players were in on double-digit tackles, including Matt Benson (14), Fred Allen (12), Sean Burger (11), and Matt Armstrong (10).

Tom Reilly and Will Habel also did standout work at defensive tackle for Marshfield, helping to stuff the repeated fullback carries up the middle. For their efforts, Reilly was credited with 7 tackles, and Habel was in on 6 stops.

Marshfield heads back on the road next week with a long bus trip to Nauset. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00. Go Rams!
